Olympian Ryan James Wedding Case: $10M Reward for Fugitive

Investigators believe Wedding, whose aliases include “El Jefe,” “Giant,” and “Public Enemy,” resides in Mexico but could also be in the United States, Canada, Colombia, Honduras, Guatemala or Costa Rica.

He is the lead defendant among 16 people named in an indictment issued in October, the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Central District of California, said in a statement at the time.

They were indicted for allegedly shipping bulk quantities of cocaine in 2024. Wedding is also accused of helping to direct 2023 murders of two members of a family in Canada in retaliation for a stolen drug shipment, and of co-ordering the 2024 murder of another victim over a drug debt.

If convicted, Wedding would face a mandatory minimum penalty of life in federal prison on the continuing criminal enterprise charge. The murder and attempted murder charges carry a minimum sentence of 20 years in federal prison, while he could receive a 10 to 15-year sentence if convicted of drug trafficking.
