Sherri Shepherd Reveals the “Surreal” Texts Oprah Winfrey Sends Her

“I connected with Barbara’s sense of humor,” Sherri said of the late news anchor, who passed away in December 2022. “I think that not enough people really got to see what a bawdy sense of humor Barbara had.”

And while Barbara would show up for her co-star at her latest TV and movie premieres, Sherri joked that her support came in small (but hilarious) doses.

“She would support my movies, but she would leave, right in the middle of it, and announce, ‘I’m leaving,'” she explained, adding, “Or even my sitcom, she came, and we weren’t even through the first scene and she’s like, ‘I’m leaving,’ like, ‘I’ve supported you enough.'”
