Over the years, a number of actors have heard their names called at the Academy Awards. However, making that coveted winners list is no easy feat, as many talented stars have come to learn. Take, for example, Amy Adams, who has been nominated for an Oscar a jaw-dropping six times! Despite the recognition, the American Hustle star has yet to take home a trophy. 

Last year, Glenn Close, who has also shockingly never won an Oscar, was nominated for her eighth Academy Award. She was up for the honor in the Best Supporting Actress category for her work in Hillbilly Elegy, but lost out to Youn Yuh-jung, who made history while taking home her first-ever Oscar for her work in Minari.

At the 2022 Oscars on March 27, Will Smith took home his first Oscar, winning Best Actor for his portrayal of Richard Williams in King Richard. Though the milestone moment came shortly after a tense onstage exchange between Will and Chris Rock, the actor acknowledged how much the honor meant to him, saying in part, “This is a beautiful moment.”
