Scottish Premiership: Rangers, Livingston, Motherwell, and Ross County feature in Team of the Week | Football News
Celtic remain three points ahead of Rangers in the Scottish Premiership title race after both sides of the Old Firm dropped points this weekend.
Giovanni van Bronckhost’s side failed to take advantage of Celtic’s stalemate with Hibernian on Sunday, throwing away a two-goal lead to draw 2-2 with Motherwell.
The goalless draw at Easter Road was the first time Ange Postecoglou’s side had dropped points in 2022.
In contrast, Rangers have won just 13 of a possible 24 points on offer since the Scottish Premiership returned after the winter break.
It is the second time this season Motherwell have drawn with Rangers at Ibrox and, as a result, the Fir Park side take two places in this Scottish Premiership team of the week after their impressive fightback.
However, it is Livingston who dominate the Team of the Week following their 4-0 win at Dundee.
Here, WhoScored.com take a look at the five best performing players to make the best XI this week…
5. Jack Fitzwater (Livingston) – 8.19 rating
Livingston are the dominant side in the latest Scottish Premiership team of the week following their 4-0 win at Dundee, with Jack Fitzwater returning a rating of 8.19. The centre-back scored his second league goal of the season in the resounding victory, scoring with one of two efforts on goal, while three shots blocked, three clearances and one interception helped confirm a clean sheet and the three points.
4. Kaiyne Woolery (Motherwell) – 8.19 rating
Kaiyne Woolery had a direct hand in both Motherwell goals at Rangers on Sunday, providing the assist for Jordan Roberts shortly after the restart before firing the Well level at Ibrox with 15 minutes to play. Those came from respective returns of one key pass and one shot, while additional returns of two dribbles and one clearance helped garner a WhoScored.com rating of 8.19.
3. Jason Holt (Livingston) – 8.28 rating
Jason Holt absolutely dominated proceedings in the middle of the park in Dundee as he played a central role in Livingston’s resounding victory on Saturday. While he didn’t contribute to a goal, Holt didn’t give the Dundee midfield a moment’s rest as he made seven interceptions and four tackles to contribute towards his inclusion in the team of the week with a WhoScored.com rating of 8.28.
2. Bruce Anderson (Livingston) – 8.39 rating
Bruce Anderson netted goals number 10 and 11 in Livingston’s 4-0 win at Dens Park, the striker’s brace in a man of the match display coming from two of five shots. Anderson has a knack for getting the better of Dundee having scored twice against them last month and, having earned a rating of 8.39 from the weekend, two of the 23-year-old’s best rated displays this season have now come against the Dark Blues.
1. Regan Charles-Cook (Ross County) – 8.40 rating
With a rating of 8.40, Ross County star Regan Charles-Cook is the WhoScored.com Scottish Premiership player of the week. The 25-year-old reinforced a statistically calculated strength of ‘finishing’ in Ross County’s 3-1 win over St Johnstone, hitting the back of the net with his two shots on goal as Charles-Cook put in his best rated display of the season.
