Restaurant Sultan - Granada http://www.movingtoandalusia.com/2009/01/rest... When in Granada, eat Moorish! So after a long day of sight seeing we ended up at Sultan in calle Elvira. It looks a bit run down, and in this off, off season there weren't very many people there, but the welcome was hearty. The tables look like they're intended for Snowwhite's dwarves, and I had a bit of trouble sitting down in a skirt. My husband picked lovely dishes: humus and Arab bread, followed by a lovely lentil soup with a hint of Morrocan mint and a skewer of lamb. I picked badly, a watery harira chickpea soup followed by a fish tajin. The fish tajin may have been lovely, but it was covered in boiled carrot, my arch nemesis. I'll eat almost anything, brains, pigs feet, worms, but boiled carrot; blegh. It's just icky. So I nibbled on my husband's food. Horrible man, always picks the best thing on the menu. On the other hand: he always let's me share his food. Lovely man. I should really order the same, but that'd be cheating. And a bit dull. So in conclusion: if you order the right stuff, this is a nice restaurant. Not the greatest, but nice.

Thoughts on Digg http://www.wpconfig.com/2009/01/13/my-thought... Despite the fact that I've been blogging for over three years now, the past two days have been a unique experience for me. For the first time in my blogging career, one of my posts made the front page of Digg. Truthfully, this isn't the big accomplishment that it used to be as many bloggers make it there in their first few months of blogging, but this post isn't about that. Instead I wanted to post about my experience being on the front page of Digg. Funny thing is, the post that was Dugg was our best 3-Column WordPress Themes gallery, which was actually published on October 2, 2007. In that post, we featured our favorite 3-column WordPress themes in a gallery format for people to look through and find a suitable theme for their WordPress blog. This of course was before any of the premium WordPress themes or content management themes we have today. After I noticed the post was on Digg's front page, I decided to revisit this post and noticed how "2007? it was.
Improving the "Links" Post http://www.wpconfig.com/2009/01/02/improving-... Some people create link posts to help their readers discover new, interesting, and truly useful sites. Others simply post them to fill some of the void created when they don't have anything to write about, but all of these posts have something in common. When a reader goes through their feed reader or visits the site, he or she typically tries to avoid this type of post, unless t hey have something to stick around for - perhaps a tip or piece of information that they didn't hear/know about before.
Sarah Silverman on Star Trek Voyager http://www.celebla.com/2008/12/31/sarah-silve... It's that time of the year that you watch old reruns and I stumbled across the Star Trek Voyager episode featuring comedienne Sarah Silverman's not so great first steps into the spotlights. I'm glad she turned to comedy”¦.
Michelle Trachtenberg to return to Gossip Girl http://www.celebla.com/2009/01/05/michelle-tr... May is creeping closer and closer and we all know what happens in May, apart from birds nesting etc., the Future Starts! With the start of a whole new Terminator trilogy! Starring Christian Bale, the flic is set in the none too distant, but eerily post apocalyptic future. The only thing standing between mandkind and total annihilation by big scary robots is, once again, poor John Connor. I must say that, when I watch Terminator:SCC I often get the same feeling I got when watching Frodo and Sam plodding through endless mountains on The Two Towers: poor lambs, they still have the entire Return of the king to go before they get to *&^%$ Mordor! Young John is already having such a hard time of it when he should be chasing girls and hating his mum like a proper teen. As if being a teenager isn't bad enough, he has to fight killer robots and figure out the future from his basement wall. And take orders from his mum, which must sting just a little. Anyway, in Salvation he's all grown up and Christian Bale, which must be good news. I always hope Kate Winslet will play me in the movie, John must be well chuffed that the Dark Knight himself is taking on the role! On second thoughts, I'd like him to play me as well.
La Ventana Piedra - Trevelez http://www.movingtoandalusia.com/2009/01/la-v... I won! Finally, I ordered better food than my husband! Even in January, Trevelez s teemng wth buses, filled with elderly Spaniards, touring La Alpujarra and terrbly interested in ham. La Ventana Piedra is a relatively cute place, not too big, lots of wood and a lovely view of the valley and the river. The food is very cheap and great value for money. I had the sopa de ajo tostado, which I loved, and my husband envied, and then the lamb chops and Crema Catalana for desert. Which was about as homemade as McDonald's apple pie, but really nice nonetheless. Hubby had the ensalada mita for starters, which was a bit of a disaster, with kiwi (but why?) and canned beet (YIKES!) . Don't go there. We watched someone being served the tropical salad, which looked like something you wear on a hat. But shouldn't. With pineapple and grapes. Blegh.
One Tree Hill: Things a mama don't know http://www.celebla.com/2009/01/09/one-tree-hi... Big news all around! Sooooooooooooooo. Peyton is not dying, but preggers! Sam is still missing and Brooke is freaking out. Nathan made the league and everybody's really happy. Well, except for Sam, who's bunking with the Evil Man who shot Keith and beat up Brooke. And he's angry.
Snowed in, Day 3: Ultimate relaxation http://www.movingtoandalusia.com/2009/01/snow... I am on day 3 of being snowed in on top of my mountain, and you'd think I'd be getting restless. I have stuff to do! People to see! New yarn to pick up from the post office! But there is something ultimately relaxing about having nowhere to go. As long as you have enough food and fuel of course, I had visions of The Little House on the prairie, when they all get snowed in and are starving and Almanzo has to drive his sledge out into the blizard to go look for a farmer who may have some grain.... Luckily, we have a nice stock of canned tuna, lentils and, o joy! Ferrero Rocher.

Brothers and Sisters: a father dreams http://www.celebla.com/2009/01/09/brothers-an... The siblings are back from the holidays and California is looking nice and balmy! As I am snowed in anything that doesn't require monboots and a big woolly hat is lookin'awfully good to me.
Kevin is recovering from his kidney surgery and keeps having disturbing dreams. Justin goes into Cooper's primary school as 'show and tell', Saul tries to hire an architect for Nora's pet project, but Norah loathes the man.
The Ins and Outs of Link Baiting http://www.wpconfig.com/2009/01/10/the-ins-an... Link baiting is often thrown out among bloggers and SEO "gurus" everyday. If you've never heard the term before, it's okay. You probably do understand the term, at least in a sense, but have never related the term to its purpose. Much like other terms that may appear simple to understand and use at first, there is a lot more to this concept than you might think.
Just because you run a blog that doesn't cater to offline visitors (non-online ideas/products) doesn't mean that you can't practice this trick, although more people are generally aware of the tactic when used with popular websites. Social media and networking will do all the work for you as long as you provide the content.
